Entertainment News and Ticket Sales

As a ticket seller, the one thing that really sells tickets is when the entertainer is making the news. Entertainment News is the best vehicle to shift tickets.

Once you're in the public eye via mass media, you're in no better place. The only possible bad publicity would be if one of your previous concerts got panned by the media. But outside of that, good behaviour or bad behaviour - it's all good publicity.

Why is that? Well, for one, it's simple awareness. If an American popstar is making the news for being seen in London for example, this advertises the fact they may be on tour in the UK. Secondly, people are wary of traditional advertising. In many ways, the public are becoming blind to the usual forms and marketing and advertising. So awareness through celebrity gossip is arguably the best way to stay in the spotlight if you're a star - you just have to put up with the negative with positive.

Of course, if your fanbase is big enough, one simple announcement of your tour can result in it being sold out just minutes after.

But really for second hand ticket sales, awareness through publicity is a great way to announce a tour is on. Who buys second hand sales tickets? Those who have no time to buy them the first time around. As many tickets sell out so fast, you have to be in the right place at the right time - not possible if you're working a 9 to 5 job or have other commitments. So the second hand ticket market offers a valuable service to these types of people. Thanks to the internet too, the prices of second hand tickets have come down considerably over the years to be not much more than what you'd pay the firsthand.
